TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Booking of Stalls:

Applications for participation will be accepted only on the prescribed form. Booking of stalls will be made upon receipt of 100% advance payment along with the duly completed prescribed application form submitted by the due date. Payment should be made through a bank draft/pay order drawn in favour of the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association.

Upon being accepted by the KIBF, the application will be considered as an agreement (under the accepted terms) between the participant and the KIBF. Allocation of stalls is subject to the availability of space and the KIBF reserves the right to disqualify an exhibitor without giving prior notice.

All exhibitors, including agents/representatives are advised to book their stalls in advance to avail a special discount of US$ 100 per stall of 3x3 meters in case of foreign exhibitors and, Rs.3,000 discount for Pakistani exhibitors.

Possession/Vacation of Stalls:
Possession of space will be given only upon receipt of full payment of participation charges. Participants will be given possession of the stalls on 29th November 2007. The stalls have to be vacated latest by 6 pm on 5th December 2007, failing which the KIBF shall have the right to remove the exhibits/materials at the risk and cost of the participants.

It shall be the responsibility of the participants to remove all exhibits, tools and other materials at the closure of the Fair and leave the stalls in the same condition in which they were allotted to them.

Display and Sale of Books:
The display and sale of pirated, proscribed or objectionable books is strictly prohibited. The display and sale of books of foreign participants shall be through their local agents, resellers or distributors. In case of any violation of these rules, the KIBF shall have the right to close the staff without any claim.

Encroachment of passages:
No encroachment of extension in the passages shall be allowed. Participants are, therefore, advised to arrange the display within the space allotted to them.

Cleaning:
While the KIBF will make arrangements to carry out the general cleaning, the participants shall be responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of the stalls at all times during the Fair.

Display of Banners and Posters:
While there will be no restriction on the putting up of banners, posters, etc. on or within the designated stall area, nothing will be allowed to be displayed outside the stall, and above the height of eight feet.

Playing Audio/Video Cassettes:
Participants playing audio or video cassettes at the stalls should ensure that the level of sound does not cause any annoyance to either neighbouring participants or to the visitors.

Insurance:
It will be the responsibility of the participants to insure (if they so require) their exhibits and stock against break-in, theft, and damage by fire and other natural calamities, during transit to and from the exhibition hall as well as the duration of the Fair. The KIBF shall be entitled but not obliged to inspect such policy before handing over possession of the stall. In such event, the participants shall indemnify the KIBF.

Security:
While the KIBF will make round-the-clock security arrangements at the hall during the Fair, they are not liable for any loss or damage to the goods and property of the participants in transit, storage or exhibition during the Fair. The participants are, therefore, advised not to leave their stalls unattended during the Fair timings. The participants, if they so desire, may make security arrangements for their stalls during the Fair timings through the security agents approved by the KIBF.

Entry:
Participants will not be allowed entry into the hall before 9 am and shall vacate the hall by closing time every day. No goods or displays may be removed during the Fair without the written permission of the KIBF management.

Cancellation:
In the event of a natural disaster, or if circumstances so warrant, the KIBF Committees reserves the right to postpone, alter or cancel the Fair. In case the Fair is cancelled before the inauguration, rentals collected shall be refunded after making the necessary deductions of expenses so incurred. However, no refund will be made if participant wishes to withdraw from the Fair after making a firm booking.

Any of the terms and conditions mentioned above may be relaxed or modified at the discretion of the KIBF committee, whose decision will be final and binding. In matters not mentioned herein, the decision of KIF Committee shall be final.
